How long do court orders take to be issued?
When court orders are made they issue within about seven to 10 working days. However, the judicial officer making the orders can make a direction that the orders are issued "urgently" or "promptly".

  • Urgent - where practicable the orders are issued on the same day, unless a time is stated (e.g. close of business).
  • Prompt - the orders are issued within 48 hours.
  • Orders are sent to the address for service held on the court file.
  • Divorce certificates are posted out on the working day they become "absolute" or final, but when this occurs during a weekend, they are posted on the following working day.
