Fees

Court Fees from 1 January 2013

To file certain applications, subpoenas and for some hearings, fees must be paid to the court.  The details of the fees applicable from 1 January 2013 are set out in the tables below.  Payment of court fees can be made at the Registry counter by:

  • cash;
  • cheque or postal/money order made payable to "The Family Court of WA"; and
  • EFTPOS debit card, Mastercard and Visacard.

Payment of court fees can be made by post by:

  • cheque or postal/money order payable to "The Family Court of WA"; and
  • Mastercard and Visacard (please complete credit card payment authority - see downloads)

In some cases, fees do not have to be paid.  For instance, if you hold certain government concession cards you can apply for an exemption or reduced fee*.  In cases of financial hardship you can also apply for an exemption or reduced fee*.  Please see downloads panel on this page.

* Reduced fees apply to application filing fees for divorce and nullity.

Exemption from Payment of Court Fees

If you are the holder of certain concession cards or you are experiencing financial hardship, you may apply for an exemption from payment for all court fees listed in the fee tables above (except for divorce and nullity applications).

Reduction of Court Fees - Divorce and Nullity

If you are the holder of certain concession cards or you are experiencing financial hardship, you may apply for a reduction of filing fees for divorce and nullity applications.
